Historique

The origins of 35 Canadian Service Battalion date back to 1 January 1965 in the wake of the Sutty Commission on the reorganization of the Reserve Forces. Six units, which had previously been separate and autonomous, but which provided combat support services, were amalgamated at that time under the same headquarters. On 10 September 1974, it was reorganized on the Regular Force model and renamed 55 Canadian Service Battalion.

The unit was first stationed in the historic barracks of Artillery Park, in the heart of Old Quebec City, but gradually moved to the military installations in the industrial centre of St-Malo, previously occupied by the Regular Force. 35 Canadian Service Battalion adopted the regimental march shared by all the service battalions who bear the same motto: "Devoir avant tout" (Duty Above All). The regimental colours, red, yellow and blue, emblazoned on the flag, are derived from the old colours of the component units.

The unit has always stood out on the basis of its innovations and the originality of its training.
