The Canadian Army is proud to participate in a pageantry-filled military parade that commemorates the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. The parade is the culminating event for a two-day conference hosted by the Bill Graham Centre for Contemporary International History and the Munk School of Global Affairs (University of Toronto) and sponsored by RBC Wealth Management.

The parade is entitled “1914-1918 in Memoriam” and will occur Thursday July 31, 2014 7:30 pm-9:00 pm at Varsity Stadium in downtown Toronto, University of Toronto.

The night’s festivities will open with the traditional military bugle call and a Vimy Ridge Fanfare, followed by massed bands performance, an Honour Guard, and Colour Party.

Military contribution to the parade will include members from across the 4th Canadian Division including 2nd Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group from Garrison Petawawa and 32 Canadian Brigade Group headquartered in Toronto. Military members not on the parade are encouraged to attend in uniform (Dress 1A).

Event speakers will include Professor Margaret MacMillan of the University of Oxford and General Thomas Lawson, Chief of the Defence Staff.

While this event is free to attend and open to the public, it does require pre-registration. Don’t miss your opportunity to attend the only event of its kind in the Greater Toronto Area.
