The 5th Field Regiment, members, officers and honorary officers went to Ottawa to attend a War Memorial dinner hosted by the Canadian War Museum. The event marked the centenary of the beginning of the Great War. 5th  Field Regimental Museum director, Honorary Lieutenant Colonel Murray reflected on the importance of regimental attendance, describing Sir Arthur Currie’s involvement as Commanding Officer of the 5th  Field Regiment immediately prior to the start of the War.

Members of the Regiment were also invited to meet with the Speaker of the House in Parliament the Honourable Andrew Scheer, M.P. and tour the Parliament building as well as the Peace Tower which houses the names of all the fallen in the service of Canada.
