Sergeant Simon Laprade - Demonstrator

Sergeant Simon Laprade enrolled in the Regular Force in 2004 at the age of 24 and, after basic training in his trade, was transferred to 3 Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment, in Petawawa, Ontario. During his time with the battalion, he took his basic parachutist course in 2006. After serving a year in the infantry, he was transferred to the Canadian Special Operations Regiment (CSOR), where he took his static line square parachute and military free-fall parachute courses in 2013. During his seven years with CSOR, he went on two deployments––to Afghanistan and Libya. Sgt Laprade is now posted to the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers School, where he holds the position of section commander. He is currently on a temporary assignment with the Canadian Army Advanced Warfare Centre. During his free time, he loves to play hockey and golf.
