The Application Process
Step 1: Meet Minimum Requirements. Determine if you are eligible to join by meeting the minimum requirements:
Step 2: Choose Your Job. If you meet these requirements, the next step is to figure out what you want to do in the Army Reserves by selecting your military occupation (trade). Click the link for a list and descriptions of the Jobs Available In BC.
Step 3: Contact A Unit Recruiter. Once you have determined your trade of choice, contact a Unit Recruiter at the unit that has your trade choice available (units do not employ every trade). Click the link for Unit locations In BC.
Step 4: Fill Out The Application. The unit recruiter will help you to fill out all of the forms below required for your application. In addition to these forms, you will need to show an original copy of the following documents: Transcripts from High School and the highest level of post-secondary education received, Birth Certificate and Citizenship Card (if not born in Canada) or Passport (if born in Canada) and Government issued photo ID (Provincial or Federal).

Step 5: Begin Testing & Processing. Someone from the Canadian Forces Recruiting Center will contact you to book an aptitude test. If you have met the required score for you trade of choice then you will be contacted for further processing, medical examination at CFRC, physical fitness test and an interview.
Step 6: Enrolment At Your Unit. Once these steps are complete then your application will be sent to your unit of choice for enrolment into the Canadian Forces.
